སྤྱི་ཟླ་བདུན་པའི་ཚེས་པ་ཉི་ཤུ་རྩ་གཅིག་རེད། དགོང་མོ་ཆུ་ཚོད་བརྒྱད་དང་སྐར་མ་བཅུ་གཅིག་རེད།
Today I felt outside of my comfort zone when བཙུན་མ་དབང་མོ་ལགས། suggested to do an improvised, recorded, session practising for the Final Challenge video where we talk about clothing. Or brains fried a bit, but it felt very good after. I was more for iterating a document writing down what we would say in the video. I guess the best thing is doing something in between.
Today with བཙུན་མ་བསྟན་འཛིན་དབང་མོ་ལགས། we learned about the connotations that calling a nun ཨ་ནེ། alone can have: it can feel a bit derogative since it’s like saying “auntie”, word for which is the same. རྗེ་བཙུན་མ། is even higher. But since my SLC colleague is so humble she will refer herself as ཨ་ནེ།
We were explained how to say “in my opinion”, “I think”, etc… But I remember also seeing the “think” to be used after a copula, I would like to know more about how to use it: ངས་གཟའ་ཉི་མ་རེད་བསམ་བྱུང་། It seems I cannot use like ངས་ཁྱེད་རང་སློབ་སྦྱོང་ཡག་པོ་གནང་བསམ་བྱུང་། I think… It would be correct if instead we say ངས་ཁྱེད་རང་སློབ་སྦྱོང་ཡག་པོ་གནང་ཡག་བསམ་བྱུང། tutor

I loved how to see in action the དེ་འདྲས་ “such” in Mr Sloth’s sentence: ང་དོམ་བུ་ལག་རིང་ཡིན་ཙང་། ངལ་གསོ་མང་པོ་རྒྱག་དགོས་རེད། དེ་འདྲས་ཡིན་ན་ཡང་དུ་ཚོད་སྟོང་པ་ཡོད་ན་སློབ་སྦྱོང་ཡག་པོ་བྱེད་ཐུབ་ཀྱི་ཡོད། “I am a sloth. I must rest a lot. Despite that, if I have free time, I study well.”

My tutor instead of དུག་སློག says གོས་སློག. Let’s keep the ear prepared for both!
Second time it happens to me (first was during in བོད་ཁང། with the tutor classes with Eloi) and second in book page 114, that in order to avoid saying ངས་ངའི་, it’s better to say ངས་ང་རང་གི་་་ to make it more clear!

སྤྱི་ཟླ་བདུན་པའི་ཚེས་པ་བཅུ་བཞིན་རེད། ཞོག་པ་ཆུ་ཚོད་བཅུ་པ་ལ་དང་ཕྱེད་ཀ་རེད།
My tutor does not pronounce འགྱིག like ཆིག as I seem to hear in the Anki nor གྱོན། as ཆོན། so I will pronounce it like “ghyön”.

སྤྱི་ཟླ་བདུན་པའི་ཚེས་པ་བཅུ་གཉིས་རེད། མཚན་མོ་ཆུ་ཚོད་བརྒྱད་པ་དང་བཅོ་ལྔ་རེད།
Our teacher made a great effort to give us more examples on མ་གཏོགས།, so I rewrote a bit the Tibetan “ma gtogs” as well as Tibetan “Only”.

Gen Alexandra ལགས། said many Tibetans pronounce མཁན་ as ཉན་, so we must be alert!
I didn’t know some verbs have 3 forms: regular, humilific and honorific such as “to give”:

To help speaking flow, sometimes ལ་དོན་ can fall, for instance in the case of བསྟན་འཛིན་ལགས་ལ་ one might drop it or pronounce the K “ten dzin lak la” instead of pronouncing “ten dzin la la”. Imagine if the name ends with la, then you get the “la la la” song 😆.

སྤྱི་ཟླ་བདུན་པའོ་ཚེས་པ་བཅུ་རེད། དགོང་མོ་ཆུ་ཚོད་དྲུན་པ་ཟིན་པ་ལ་སྐར་མ་དགུ་འདུག
I realized the same ཐག་ཆད་ (very, really) in བདེ་ཐག་ཆོད་ (very well) is the same word as in ཐག་ཆོད་བྱེད་པ་ (to decide). The individual meanings: ཐག = distance, ཆོད = cut. I still don’t understand the connection between the individual words with “very, really”.

སྤྱི་ཟླ་བདུན་པའི་ཚེས་པ་དྲུག་རེད། མཚན་མོ་ཆུ་ཚོད་བཅུ་པ་དང་ཕྱེད་ཀ་རེད།
I would it hilarious that during my volunteering for the Tibet House Barcelona event at a theatre I was given a lanyard with the word ལས་བྱེད། (staff) and found it funny because it reminds me of leche (milk in Spanish). Shortly thereafter, when doing my Anki revision, Franziska’s ལས་བྱད་པ། card shows up! For sure I will remember this word now.

སྤྱི་ཟླ་བདུན་པའི་ཚེས་པ་བདུན་རེད། མཚན་མོ་ཆུ་ཚོད་བདུན་པ་ལ་ཡོལ་ནས་སྐར་མ་བཅུ་གཅིག་རེད།
In one of the reading comprehension exercises I found a very useful structure: “If I can do that, I’ll do”: ངས་ལན་བརྒྱབ་ཐུབ་ན་བརྒྱབ་ཀྱི་ཡིན།
Another interesting finding is that རྒན་མིག་དམར་ལགས། told me that when referring to clothing དུག་སློག is more spoken and གྱོན་ཆས། when written.
