Single-Pointed Meditation
About single-pointed meditation:
- Body posture (Buddhism 7 Point Posture of Vairochana)
- Focal point
- Breathe in, breath out.
- 21 cycles (or 5 minutes ≈ 60 cycles)
- If lost count, restart from 0.
- Multi task it with tiny white dot visualization between nose and upper lip, 2-3-4mm diameter.
- Identifying errors of meditations
- Mental laxity and excitement.
- Applying remedies to overcome the errors
- Introspection: keep an eye on the mind to see what it is doing. Vigilance. Spying on your mind. Once it notices big changes it hands the task to Mindfulness (see below).
- Mindfulness: the rope. Tying it to the pillar.
- Both remedies help help increase reactivity but does not help with productivity.
